30 applications were submitted by startups to participate in the International Startup Exchange. A selection committee was formed to evaluate the applicants. Atlanta-based Carbice Nanotechnologies and Partpic and Toulouse-based Uwinloc and Donecle were chosen to participate in the exchange.
Baratunde Cola, Chairman and CEO for Carbice, and Don De Laria, Executive Vice President of Sales for Partpic had conducted their residency at the Airbus BizLab. They met French entrepreneurs, investors and executives from Airbus and Airbus Defence&Space. They also attended EmTech France 2016, an international conference to showcase emerging technologies and connect startups with venture capitalists from across the globe.
In November, the city of Atlanta hosted Toulouse startups Uwinloc and Donecle.
Uwinloc is a location and identification solution using very low-cost battery-less tags, around few cents, suited for large volume of assets inside warehouses and usable on any types of objects.
Eric Cariou, CEO of Uwinloc, had fulfilled his two-week residency at the Garage at Tech Square and participated in programs at ATDC, Sandbox, and the Consulate General of France in Atlanta.
He also met several VC’s during the Venture Atlanta, he had fruitful exchanges about his next 3M€ fund raising.
Baratunde, CEO of Carbice who spent 1 week at the BizLab, facilitated meetings with Georgia Tech Institute.
Eric visited as well the mains incubators in Atlanta. They will give him the opportunity to be hosted in one of them if an Uwinloc team need to be localized in Atlanta.
Eric presented the Uwinloc solution to Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola and UPS, they are deeply interested with the indoor solution proposed by Uwinloc.
